Kongshavn Videregående Skole

Information

Kongshavn videregående Skole opened in 2013 and is an upper secondary school close to the city center of Oslo. It currently has 525 students aged 16 to 19 and a staff of 55 (43 teachers). Kongshavn offers preparatory programs for university entrance in the fields of Social Science and Humanities, Natural Science, and Business and Economics. We specialize in Entrepreneurship and also offer broad-based sports as a subject. The school organizes a large international entrepreneurial innovation camp each year where students get assignments for large companies such as EoN Ruhgas, Dell, Snøhetta and H&M on how to develop sustainable business ideas. The school is also responsible for an innovative exchange program with two partner schools in Berlin. The school is a certified Eco-Lighthouse and the last couple of years we have run a project on how to prevent plastic pollution. Preventing noise pollution fits very well into our environmental focus The school is situated between one of the richest and one of the poorest areas in the city. Thus, the students’ parents have very different socio-economic status, ranging from the highest to the lowest. Some students face major challenges in fitting in, both socially and academically. More than 30% of the students have a minority background. We are striving to create an including, friendly, respectful and safe environment to provide the best possible basis for further studies. The school focuses on experience-based learning and internationalization. We truly believe that international cooperation enables both students and teachers to see themselves in a larger context. We have little experience with Erasmus, though. This is a unique occasion to get experience with an Erasmus project with an environmental focus, and thereafter be able to start further Erasmus projects in the years to come. Noise is the environmental pollution that affects most people in Norway today, according to the Norwegian Association against Noise Our school building, the hosting venue, is the former Maritime School built-in 1917, which was completely refurbished in 2013 to comply with high standards for modern education. The exterior architecture is inspired by Medieval castles. One part of the interior is a fresco in the entrance hall painted by the Norwegian artist Per Krogh, picturing the life at sea, maritime myths and Norway’s history as a maritime nation We would like to include as many students and staff members as appropriate to run a cross-curricular Erasmus project that will have an impact on the whole school. The key people in charge of running the project will be one administrator/secretary, and one responsible for each of the following: Social media, E-twinning, Natural science, Social science, English and Spanish. We have enough teachers involved in the case a setback appears Education in Norway focuses on modern technology and all school children have a pc or a tablet. Our teachers can contribute to how to use ICTs in teaching.

Szkola Podstawowa nr 11 im. Stefana Batorego

Information
School is situated in a social and economic disadvantaged area. Many children come from families with unemployed parents and they have a very difficult financial situation. Some of the parents left the country and started to work abroad so kids are being brought up without one parent. At school, we have many pupils with behaviour disturbance, emotional disorders and dyslexia. They have also problems with obesity and spend to much time in front of the TV, computers or social media. We have pupils from 7 to 15 years old and our staff number is 65. We want to take part in European cooperation activities because we are sure that such partnership will give our pupils a great possibility to learn about different countries and nationalities, to improve their English, reading and writing skills, to be better and more active Europeans and to create an intercultural dialogue between students and teachers. But the most important thing is that they will cooperate with other European teenagers in the field of environment. We consider that Noise Pollution(NP)is a big problem nowadays so we want to take actions in order to reduce it in our city. To join this project means a unique opportunity to work together in a European dimension to reduce noise and increase public awareness of the consequences of a noisy environment. This project offers us benefits since other important topics are treated(emissions reduction, sports for young people, renewables, clean transport, green cities) These topics fit perfectly with our objectives so our school will promote it 100%. As we have the total support of the school´s heads. We have enough people involved ready to take part in the project in case we have a setback. Motivation to join the project to allow our children to be able to communicate in English. (Improve linguistic skills) To motivate all students through this form of learning and children with special difficulties will gain trust and respect for their special abilities (integration) To use many different kinds of ICTs to facilitate communication between schools and prepare students for a better future with more opportunities to share best practices about managing our environment in a sustainable way. NP and other kinds of pollution directly related to We have experience with eTwinning, lots of them got EQL and two of them got National Prizes. Coordinator of the project is Ambassador of the eT and she has got a great experience in project work. So one of our main objectives is to share our eT knowledge with our partners to have a better city from an ecological perspective. Noise, transport, emissions, renewables etc To promote healthy living habits among our students. Sports, food, etc To promote the European Values: peace, respect, promote scientific and technological progress, sustainable development based on balanced economic growth and price stability, a highly competitive market economy with full employment and social progress, and environmental protection.

Lykkesgårdskolen. VARDE

INFORMATION
Lykkesgaardskolen is situated in Varde Kommune on the west coast of Denmark. We are neighbours to spectacular nature and cultural heritage as The Wadden Sea National Park. Varde Kommune is a big tourist destination with many kilometres of wide beaches, dunes and the Sea. Varde Town is an old borough. Lykkesgaardskolen is a municipal primary and lower secondary school with 550 pupils and a staff of 130 persons. We teach preschool classes (age 5) up till secondary school (age 15). Lykkesgaardskolen acknowledges the necessity of looking out to Europe for new knowledge, competences, inspiration, and tools in order to improve the teaching and learning in a fast-moving and globalized world. Thus, teachers teach according to the latest Danish curriculum and the common objectives passed by the Danish Ministry of Education. Both the curriculum and the objectives are inspired thoroughly by research, scientific work and experience from abroad. Nature and science curriculum is a top priority in Denmark right now. Hence, Lykkesgaardskolen appreciates the possibilities, which Erasmus+ provides. We are very interested in working in a European context with topics relevant to our students and their future. Also including environmental issues such as noise pollution in their local areas. Lykkesgaardskolen looks for further competences in teaching and for our pupils to get the opportunity to meet and work cross-border with issues supporting their intercultural competences. Furthermore, there is a motivation in this project for both, teachers and pupils, to get international contacts, use their foreign langue (English), and become even more aware of their European citizenship. As a fact we want our pupils to be motivated and challenged through education at a level formed for each individual. We work with cooperative learning and want our students to work in teams showing responsibility to the group as one. The teachers are well prepared and organized during their education offering the students their knowledge and entitle them to grow up being creative and independent youngsters. We involve parents in our organization handing out information how to reach our goals with their children, wanting them to feel safe and make them believe that working together will give their young ones the best possible start of their lives. We can offer our perspective of the noise pollution problem as a small town. We are really interested in the topics related to the main subject of the project since we mainly support nature and science. All teacher´s body is involved, and we have the support of the school´s heads. In case of setback another teacher be ready to take place in the project. About clan transport, we have more than 12.000km of cycling path which is also a strong point to the project. For those all reasons we really appreciate the opportunity to join this project in order to grow together and enrich each other in a European dimension of collaborative work.

COLEGIO JUAN RAMÓN JIMENEZ CIEZA

Juan Ramón Jiménez school is located in the southeast of Spain, in the region of Murcia. It´s a cooperative of Associated Work created in 1976/77. The centre has two lines with 25 students in each one per classroom, Infant, Primary and Secondary. In total, we have around 50 teachers and 750 students. The School has three buildings: the main one where Primary and Secondary is set, another one for Infants and the last one that is dedicated to children's centre from 0 to 3 years old and to the dining room. The Montessori children's centre is a cooperative associated with our school which has been opened on September 7th of this school year and which bases it´s teaching methods on the Montessori. Our school had the best rate in school applications last year. We are located in an expansion zone with new buildings and streets. Both, cultural environment and socio-economic are medium-low. Juan Ramón Jiménez School is a reference regarding with Noise Pollution topic. We have been working it over than a decade. During these years we have tried to make students aware of this serious problem which affects our inhabitants. As everybody knows large expositions can damage health. In the last year, we have collaborated with local authorities to be able to suggest some actions to reduce noise. For this reason, we want to make a step forward in order to develop a common project inside the European framework. This project has the authorization of the school´s heads. The school principal and her team bet 100% for sustainable development. In this way, we want to be an innovative centre focusing on the special care of the environment. We have voted a commission who will run the project. We have also a coordinator project who will be the main responsible for all aspects (1 coordinator, 1 secretary, 1 eTwinning responsible, 1 communication resp, 1disemination resp, 2 works resp, 1social media resp). In case one of the members of the commission need to leave the group we have people preparing to take place. More teachers from our school are attending the training, just in case, we need more support. Families have been also informed about school plans. The teachers have a compromise to develop activities directly related to the topic in their subjects. We are involved in two eTwinning projects and 1 KA101. One in primary and the other one in secondary. Primary: BeePower. This project was our first ET project, for this reason, it means a big opportunity to grow up in the European context. Secondary: Our European Cities and environment: a step forward, was the base to materialize the KA229. Participating in these two projects give us the opportunity to interact with other European schools, which means different perspectives and different ways to work a common topic. Our teachers have taken the necessary experience to deal with a big challenge: KA229 project. KA101 is running now. 12 of our teachers are attending an Erasmus+ training this season. 14 did it last year.
