1 Short-term joint staff training events:

"Learning to each other. Green Power Action"

Copenhague from 20th October to 23rd October.

Introduction

The coordinator centre had a special interest to find a partner from Denmark, the reason is that Denmark is the country where the European Environment agency is located. Denmark is a small country so their environmental policies are quite successful. Another relevant aspect about Denmark is that has the biggest cycling paths net of Europe, with more than 12.000 km. Just in the capital, Copenhagen there are 400km of cycling paths. This is directly related to our topics, less road traffic, clean transport, reduced emissions, healthy living habits. The European Environment Agency EEA is located in Copenhagen. We are strongly interested in this European Institution and the information what they can transfer us. For those reasons, we settled our work meeting in Copenhagen. We really think that we can learn much about this city and its policies. We wanted to take advantage of having a Danish partner. MAIN ACTIVITIES for the work-meeting: 1 Day. Introducing and visit The European Environment Agency. Scheduled meeting to talk about Noise in Europe. Current situation. Contact with this organization has been made. 2 Day. Meeting in the Copenhagen City Hall. Clean transport and renewables. 3 Day. Meeting in the Copenhagen City Hall. How to reduce the noise in a big city. Contact has been made. We don't have yet the exact time to these three work activities. This is due to the fact that many time left. Methodology: Collaborative methodology. Collecting Info, Discuss and make a report. Not involved schools, just teachers. We will take advantage of this work meeting to talk and share impressions about the project. During free time we will organize a time to have a mini-training course about eTwinning. Our polish partner will be in charge to review the principal aspects and resolve any questions. Sometimes is It is highly recommendable to have a work meeting before starting the project. This type of meetings let us socialize with the other teachers. Make a review of the main activities, methodology, strategies, evaluation, process, etc. It's also important to clarify and revise each role in our partnership association. Talking about the possibles problems, and how to resolve it is crucial too. We must keep in view the main objective of this work meeting: the visits and collect info about the current situation of noise pollution and the rest of the topics related.
The result we hope for this meeting is to have better-prepared teachers related to the topics. To get first-hand information directly from the EEA or Copenhagen City Hall is an incomparable possibility. We really think that is not necessary to spend money on receiving training course if there is an adequate free option. Many national institutions or Europeans ones can teach us many things about the subject like EEA and the City Hall of Copenhagen. For this reason, we would like to set our first work-meeting in Denmark. We will try to be austere in all our movements.

Please explain how this will be achieved and what the expected benefits are

As we already mentioned we plan to use eT constantly in order to share and publish the results of this work meeting and the conclusions. We will share the work meeting planning by eTwinning. Every partner can make suggestions. The travel arrangments will be made by eT. Maps, touristic information, natural areas, historical places etc. about the city. We publish also the documents obtained during the visits and a summary with the main ideas. Doing this every partner could revise it anytime anywhere. Mini-training about eT, we plan to redact a document and share it by eT. To share documents, pictures or videos we plan also use eT. too.

How is participation in this activity going to benefit the involved participants?

In order to ensure that every school pulls in the same direction its important to have a first work meeting and we argue the following reasons: -The European Environment Agency will give us a "real picture" facing the problems related to noise pollution. -We can learn the main European Policies to fight against noise pollution. -We can compare these policies to the policies we have. -Real figures will know about the different countries and areas in Europe. -We will be informed about recent figures and the last European reports. -As far our project is related to other topics we are interested in any kind of information about the countries where policies environmental are applied. -We can know about the cycling paths net in Denmark. This country has the biggest in Europe. So we really think that its crucial to transfer all these ideas to our countries. How to encourage people to use a clean transport system will be one of our purposes. -We will learn what type of measures they apply in order to defend citizens against the noisy environment. -Renewables and encourage healthy living habits is also on our list to ask for. -Would be a perfect occasion to equate and improve our knowledge about eTwinning.(Polish Partner) -This would create an appropriate work environment between the partners. - Learn about one of the biggest wind power producers in Europe. -Learn about Copenhagen environmental care. -Biggest cycling net in Europe.
